It’s no secret that I love a good proposal photoshoot, but this one was extra special to me because of the two souls I was capturing.
Jeremy messaged me this week to let me know his plans to propose to Erin. He wondered if I thought she might like the moment captured, and if so, was I available to do just that – my answer to both of these questions, of course, was “UHMM, YES!!!”
You see, in May last year (2020), when the world seemed to be falling apart my beautiful friend Erin (who is a photographer herself) hid behind a tree and captured the moment Jase proposed to me, and now, it was my chance to do the same for her!
Jeremy knows how much Erin loves trees, and so he drove all the way down to Eungella, NSW (crossing the border of QLD, which still feels like a risky feat at the moment) to find this big, beautiful fig tree on private land – the perfect place to ask his love to marry him.
And so there I found myself, hiding inside the most glorious tree on a Monday afternoon, with curious bulls on one side of me and a very active wasp nest buzzing above me on the other side, peering out ever so slightly so I could see their car arriving. And then before I knew it, they were at the base of the tree and I was popping out around the side to capture the moment he got down on one knee – and Erin was so swept up in the moment she didn’t notice me there for a long time! So beautiful!
A huge thank you to the lovely Cherry J. for letting strangers knock on your door and use your farm!
