Phoebe & Christian’s story started and then very quickly paused after they met at uni – the timing was out, for now. A barista at the Uni coffee spot, Christian struck up a conversation with Phoebe while he made her coffee one day, at which point he learned that she was on her way to Canada for a semester. They kept in touch throughout her travels, and unbeknownst to anyone at the time, Christian formed a fantastic relationship with Phoebe’s mum – a regular and favourite customer of his. Needless to say upon Phoebe’s return things picked back up and went remarkably well, and Christian had already jumped the “meet the parents” hurdle with flying colours ;)
Well and truly graduated now, their bond has survived Phoebe’s moving to Melbourne and then back to Brisbane and into a house with Christian and his mates; at which point everyone knew this was a serious thing. They were married at Hillstone St Lucia in a Queensland “winter” (which felt a lot more like summer) with friends and family travelling from around the globe to celebrate with them. Phoebe’s mum – a fashion designer – also designed Phoebe’s wedding dress, and did the most phenomenal job! Their day was full of joy, and it was evident just how much every person who attended meant to them both. It was a pleasure to soak up and document, and we even ducked over to UQ (the university where it all started) to get a few photos.
