Location scouting; it comes with the job – sometimes it’s the best perk ever, sometimes it’s a little arduous.
Enter the Flip-a-Coin Adventure.
Fellow photographer and king of adventures Timothy J. Allen & I set the day aside to find new locations that neither of us had been to or shot at before. Trying to Google-maps a direction proved too difficult, so, Tim being the natural gamification artist that he is suggested we flip a coin to decide where to go each time we needed to make a choice in direction – uhm, yes!..
…and then we started to ignore the coin, because our gut instincts told us otherwise – make the rules and break the rules.
It paid off.
We found multiple fresh locations, and we even found some impromptu models in the form of Sarah & Lee – two girls that we spied playing guitar while sitting atop an old rusty truck far-off in a random paddock – photography jackpot!
Then we drove a not-4WD up a 4WD mountain track that we stumbled across (#yolo) and ended the day shooting off an open cliff edge as the sun went down.
Nailed it.
I took some photos along the way, and the photos of myself at the end are courtesy of Tim, processed by me.
To quote the ol’ BCF ad.. this is livin’!
