“Darwedding”
Darwin is a place I had never really considered travelling to on my own accord, until Cait & Jake swung me an email and asked if they could bring me up to their neck of the woods during the dry season to document their wedding celebrations, fondly titled ‘Darwedding’. Obviously my answer was HECK YES, and that was before I knew about the potato sack races! Now it holds a really special place in my heart, and the landscapes and weather were just superb!
The morning was very casual and wonderfully Aussie: they relaxed with a BBQ, drinks and good company and then casually slipped into Territory-appropriate wedding garb before strolling down the aisle in the bush. Queue the cloud of colourful confetti and the party begins! Lawn games, grazing tables and an ice-cream stand to boot. Cait, Jake & myself slipped away for a moment as the sun softened to make some warm, Territory-inspired portraits and then returned to the reception under the stars – dry season means no building or back-up plan needed! Just perfect evening temperatures and clear skies all night.
Scroll along with me and feel that gorgeous Territory heat and the love that is Darwedding.
